Convert your classic to a modern 'sealed coolant system' with this simple reservoir header or catch tank kit. It ensures your cooling system never looses coolant, avoiding problems such as Oil / Water temperature gauge sender blowing out, overheating from coolant loss, etc. The XK engine can displace as much as 1/2 pint (0.28 ltr) of fluid after a run. This would normally just be vented to the ground by the overflow system each journey, slowly depleting the system.

CONTENTS : Our comes with an aluminium tank with uprated 7lb cap & 4 bolts to fit, correct bypass (no pressure) cap for your radiator (advise Model), 1 mtr servo quality hose (& clamps) to avoid collapse under pressure.

ASSEMBLY : The water is simply taken from the original radiator neck, metal overflow take-off pipe. Use the metre of servo hose to position / hide the remote reservoir wherever necessary (under the wing is common), it has stand-off feet with 4 mount holes. Make sure it is positioned as high as possible for natural bleeding of the system but is still fillable to the line indicated. The tank creates a large storage reservoir where the excess water, that the XK commonly displaces when hot, is held and it is simply sucked back into the system when it cools down through the natural vacuum pressure held in the now 'closed system'. This is the now universally used system in all modern vehicles.
