SE422 x 1 . A very popular, well designed, steel framed, tilt-back bucket seat designed for fitting to all XK variants. Steel offers a safer support structure than original wood backed seats, or aluminium, especially for racing. Aluminium seats are banned in some countries in historic racing for safety reasons.

These seats come as seen, untrimmed, in black powder coat, with nice, classic XK look chrome pivot knobs and are very popular with customers across the world. Due to their popularity most XK specialist trimmers also have experience of trimming them. Weight per seat : 9.7KG

The two bars across the base seat frame offer greater safety for fixings as most bucket seats omit this and you just have to secure the base rims as you can, with plywood inserts. Our buckets can be firmly mounted back and front as the back tilts forward, rather than the whole seat pivoting forwards (Mini Style) for battery & Hood frame access in a Roadster etc. Cushion bases may just be inserted when trimmed. The steel bBases are supplied undrilled and approx. sizes are:  21 1/2 inch (54cm) deep  x 16 inch (42cm) wide.

We recommend fitting these with our cost effective aftermarket seat slides ( SE424 ) as they allow the seat to throw further forward and backwards than standard XK seat runners. An example of an XK120 custom modified rear panel is also shown, as some customers favour making extra legroom in this way.
