4229 x 1. A new XK140 & XK150 ( Mk2 & E-Type too ) Upper Steering Column Spline Sliding Section for Steering Wheel. The delicate top section can easily be damaged, especially the fine (cycle) threads when using the 'Birmingham Screwdriver' or hammer removal method. A very delicate and difficult to manufacture item as it has to be produced by a gear cutting specialist.
Fit with new 4235 nut, washer and 4236 lock tab etc. This new unit has the later wide slot to fit all applications from XK140 onwards. Secures wheel using split collet / cone 4231 as shown in second picture. Orig. Ref. C8084 / C13642
