9729 x 1. A nice round Replacement Period Style, Uprated Heater Assembly. This is a CUSTOM FITTING, that is commonly used in XK120 models and XK140 Drop Head Coupes and Roadsters. 

To fit: This unit is known as tricky to fit, so ALWAYS connect the demister hoses first and then gently manoeuvre up and rotate it so the 3 stand-off legs and water pipes fit into the bulkhead holes. The convoluted demist hose (SEE HOSE 7130) will compress and retract into the bulkhead area as you carefully feed the unit up into place. The top cover (and doors) may then be rotated 360°, so the door position suits your footwell position, as it is secured by the 3 outer case, spring clips, in a similar way to the O.E. Smiths unit. 

The mounting base unit differs from the O.E Smiths heaters as it has the demister outlets for the screen demister system in it (rather than from the lid), that vent heat out as shown in the photo, so requires slightly different,  more complex air hose plumbing and manipulation when fitting (we can provide a small 90° hose to help if necessary.)

NOTE : The XK140 FIXED HEAD and XK150 models DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH BULKHEAD CLEARANCE TO FIT THIS deeper heater unit under the dash.
