Our world renown Hydraulic Timing Chain Tensioner Conversion Kit for the XK120 (also Early XK140 )  engines that used a sprung blade design chain damper. It replaces the C2156 / C4100 / C8245 tensioner blades and C2284 / C4100 springs, which are prone to wearing completely through and dropping into the sump below the timing chest. This kit was designed for us by our old friend, the famous Jaguar engine builder, Ron Beatty, and is based on the original, Jaguar Racing Division's racing conversion for these engines as designed for the iconic C-Type & D-Type and other  racing Jaguars in the 1950's. The originals were often cast, but a solid brass block is more reliable as it will be less likely to have faults in it that could cause failure, but if you so wish, you can machine it down to look exactly like the original casting if weight is a concern, as one racing shop does, but this just adds £100+ to the cost of the same conversion!

To fit : the oil spray bar is removed and the oil flow is taken from this point and re-routed (via adaptor block) to the later XK150 type hydraulic (self adjusting) damper assembly C10332 ( it is advised to have a conical filter fitted behind to prevent oil blockage). As you can see from the picture, it should always be a snug fit against the chain when fitted. 

The adapter is a brass block and may require slight fettling at the back, as shown, to avoid the various different engine  strengtheners (webbing) that Jaguar used during this early period of the XK engines life.

We cannot accept kits back after they have been fitted or modified for fitting, so make sure you have someone competent to fit it properly. The kit consists of : damper, adaptor block, bolts, washers, gasket and fitting instructions.

You will see this kit re-sold in many places, marketed under companies own names, but here you are dealing directly with the actual manufacturer and marque specialist to ensure you get the all right parts, full fitting information and any back-up advice you may require! Original Jaguar part number is not listed in my C-Type Parts Book as this was a later modification.
