9880 x 1. XK140 & Early XK150 design Petrol Tank in original Mild Steel.

Mild steel is the correct spec. for these tanks but will corrode inside and requires ( 9884 ) sump plug filter & gasket ( 9885 ) to collect the corraded material that falls into the tank as it ages. (This is why aluminium fuel tanks are considered an upgrade. For Aluminium fuel tanks SEE : 9878). On this version the breather pipe can be seen inside the Filler Neck, so you must use cork filler seal (6770) as this system breathes (vents)  through the filler cap itself. Original Ref. C8352

NOTE : This tank design can be substituted into Later XK150 vehicles as long as the cap venting seal 6770 is used to prevent air-locks occuring rather than the later semi-circular type.
