5797P x 1.STRICTLY FOR  POSITIVE  EARTH electrical systems ( will not convert), genuine S.U. brand, electronic fuel pump. A Solid-state Switching Fuel Pump for extra reliability over standard 1950's points type. The modern design avoids the points  'carboning up' and sticking.Original Number C2823 \ C9688

All original XK's are all wired  positive (+) earthed fron the factory ( but this is now known to promote body corrosion.)

NOTE: These pumps will not reverse polarity as the original  'points switched' pumps will,  SO PLEASE ORDER THE CORRECT POLARITY OR IT WILL NOT FUNCTION.

IF YOU FIT AN ALTERNATOR OR DYNATOR, YOU WILL HAVE TO CONVERT TO THE MODERN NEGATIVE (-) EARTH SYSTEM AND USE ALTERNATE 5797N PUMP.
