There are a number of versions fitted to XK120, including the very early Long Cannister version shown (FA2045) which only takes the, unique to it, long Oil filter element (8030).

All later versions (FA2690/101 on.) take the shorter oil filter element, SEE: (8032 Oil Filter). Variations are on thickness of the main through bolt and some bolt through the top, others secure from the bottom of the cannister.

NOTE : If you have an EARLY XK140 OIL PUMP FITTED, this unit has the oil pressure valve within it, so the filter head does not feature the screw in  brass valve body assembly, it is a plain casting.
