8622 RESTORATION SERVICE. We do manufacture superb new XK120 grilles, but if your original surround is reusable and is a nice fit to your bonnet (do this fitting before painting) why not rebuild it? We will fully rebuild / restore your original rim with new brass, pre-polished, vanes and any broken studs are replaced. The whole unit is then re-chromed to a 'triple chrome' standard.
NOTE: The vanes have to be replaced with new pre-polished units before assembly to ensure they are perfect, or the chrome will show all faults down the side of the vanes.
Please also note that these vanes are silver-soldered in and bonnets should not be slammed shut as this can lead to vanes springing out from continual impact (a very common fault).
This service is only done on a 'you supply your unit first' basis and after approval by the restorer that it is possible. As with any restoration, additional work will be quoted for as additional cost.
