9859W x 1. XK140 Drop Head Coupe Metal  Hood Frame with Woodset. The Front wood is fitted to this frame then trimmed to fit the screen rail. The woods give the frame its basic shape before the 8 layers of wadding/ padding and outer mohair is then built onto it. The Drop Head Coupe also has an inner lining (Roadsters do not) trimmed to the wood to hide the framework.

NOTE: This assembly will  fit onto the XK120 Drop Head, as that specific hood frame assembly is not made. XK120 DHC differs the Centre Hood bow was cut away, (like a rib)  then assembled with a heavier wooden bow section piece. The XK140 frame has a steel bow that spans completely across, so will be slighly more rigid, so is in effect an upgrade.

Once fitted and wadded out, you would not see any difference in this frame whether fitted to an XK120 Drop Head Coupe or an XK140 Drop Head Coupe.
