9878 x 1. XK140 & Early XK150 variants. A properly re-inforced Aluminium Petrol Tank. The heavily reinforced (boxed) hanger brackets prevent the tank shearing off its mounts. On this version the breather can be seen INSIDE the Filler Neck, so you must use cork filler seal 6770. This system breathes (vents) through the filler cap itself. Original Number C8352.

This earlier tank design can be substituted into Later XK150 vehicles as long as the cap venting seal (6770) and matching cap (1325) is used to prevent air-locks occuring.

NOTE: This is a 'hung design' of fuel tank, with re-inforced mount flanges to prevent it tearing away, as aluminium is weaker than the steel it replaces, but the BENEFITS of ALUMINIUM mean that the tanks are lighter and DO NOT DELAMINATE (corrode) inside, so an additional pick up (drain) plug with filter gauze is not required (as it still is on a steel tank).
