2303 x 1piece ** A NEW, UNIQUE ITEM** SUPPLIED FLAT TO MAKE UP TO LEFT OR RHD SPEC. This is the often missing steering column Gauntlet or Cuff.  This unique aluminium cover is made up by the trimmer to suit their spec. of  a  Left or Right Hand Drive XK120. It is then trimmed in leather to match the vehicle's interior. This trim piece conceals the top of the steel outer steering column as it emerges from the bulkhead into the cabin.

We patterned this from an original we had in our stock, but supply it flat for you to roll as a LEFT HAND DRIVE or RIGHT HAND DRIVE version as needed.  Simply roll the alunminium the correct way, around a 2" diameter cylinder (rolling pin) to get a uniform shape. Use our simple bend-over lugs to secure (or weld it together if you wish). Once it is rolled to the desired shape and joined,  a slight squashing may be used to give the wide end an oval shape to the dashboard, if you so wish. Trim any unwanted pieces off to square it up, then it is leather wrapped (glueing this on will also bind it together). The small end then has a chrome trim ring fitted (2300) over it, to butt up against the other  ring that is on the column spring (2210 as in the additional drawing). The large tab is simply drilled and 2 screws are used to secure it in place under the dash.  Original Reference : BD8514 or BD8515

NOTE : Early XK120 Roadsters did NOT feature this trim piece

ADDITIONAL NOTE : We do recommend that you cut a cardboard template from it and mock it up first, BEFORE rolling the aluminimum, to ensure you get the correct shape.
